Malapascua Budget Inn

Great location right next to the market, nice rooms with good AC, and incredibly helpful staff! I had forgotten an important personal item in my room and was on the ferry back to Cebu when the staff texted me to let me know that they had found it. They immediately sent someone down to the port with it carefully wrapped and got it to me safely. Thanks again!

I really enjoyed my time at Budget Inn. I was here for 2 weeks, meaning that I saw the hostel how it functions for a long time, not catching them perhaps on off days. This hostel is a family. I loved every member of it. They’re all so friendly and kind, very giving. The beds are good. They take reviews seriously and have implemented a lot of recommendations. This is something I haven’t really seen a hostel put into practice, at least, not in the way that Budget Inn has. The facilities are great for the price, again, struggled to find anything cheaper - it’s in a fantastic location, 5 mins away from any dive shops, nearly the same from the port, and right next to the main food market!!! I loved budget in, and I really hope you do too! Massive shout out to Midge, the receptionist during my stay. She was a warm person. Truly representing Budget Inn. Also Rosalin, Grace, and Maxxy!!! Thank you ! Also coffee is 20 pezo!!!!

Sharing a photo of how it looks like from the outside. The streets in Malapascua are rugged and narrow, only wide enough for a motor/scooter so you might miss the front of the hostel. I only stayed here for a night, coming from my trip to Kalanggaman Island. For only Php 499.00 a night, I had a nice sleep in the shared dorm room. The beds were capsule-type. You get a nightlight, outlet, lockers, and privacy curtains. Most of the people staying with me that time were foreigners. Nobody was rowdy, everyone kept to themselves which I liked. They have starlink wi-fi so it was all good. I also like that they give free drinking water to guests. The bathroom is serviceable, good enough for a remote island. You need to temper your expectations with these sort of things. The cubicles were clean, the lights were working, there were enough hooks for toiletries and towels. It had a heater and the pressure was great. The water was not too salty or hard. The toilets had free tissue too.

Late review as I stayed here a year ago but it was so much fun being here. The location is great, 5mn walk from the main beach (Bounty beach). The dorms are clean and it's really the best budget option on the island :) The staff is friendly and always here for you. Lots of encounters and memories made with the karaokes and parties on the rooftop. Hope I will be back one day :) - Basti
